Icon and Baraka are among the creatives we have been working with in Malindi over the last 2 years to strengthen the local creative community in #Malindi and increase their visibility, so that creatives can create more and better content, and eventually earn a livelihood. Creatives play a big role in community development, sparking civil engagement and strengthening social ties through their creative outputs. By supporting and empowering rural creatives, we create economically, culturally and socially vibrant rural communities. In addition, supporting rural creatives fosters a culture of expression, innovation and inclusivity, helping to unlock the full potential of rural areas. We strongly believe in the power of storytelling as a catalyst for change, especially when it involves empowering individuals to share their own narratives. It's crucial to acknowledge that those directly affected by issues are often the most effective advocates for change. Rather than elaborate setups or polished language, the focus should be on authentically capturing stories in their own words just as we did with #JabaFilm as our ED explains.

In this last part of Zuhura, we follow the story of a woman who leaves her homeland to seek a better life for her family. But as she sends money back home to her husband, a web of betrayal and heartbreak unfolds. Zuhura explores the harsh reality many face when trust is shattered in pursuit of dreams. This play is presented by talented thespians during the MnatoSato event.
